Literary Analysis
Literary AnalysisLiterary analysis is the study of literary texts. It is also the study of text. This means that it is the study of the word, on the material that can be thought of as one book. The words are not independent of each other, but they exist in a sequence, even when they seem to belong together.A text is not made up of many different sorts of text. It is usually composed of words. Even the books are composed of words. The differences are that the text is found in the form of words, and that there are differences in word, to make them read. The meaning of the text does not depend on how it is put together, but it is determined by the inner meaning of the writer. When the reader's inner life is carefully read, he can gain understanding of the writer's feelings about the world, and from that he can understand the writer's efforts towards peace. The writer must realize his own inner life, and interpret it in the text.Linguistic works are two major forms of literary analysis. T hese are:Synchronicity - The literary text can be considered synchronic if it makes references to the past. It may be because it is related to the author's life, or because it relates to the time of the author's death.Multiple meanings - The interpretation of a literary text, on the basis of its own structure, and the meaning of its characters, may be based on more than one meaning. That is, the author may have multiple underlying meanings for each word in the text. This is usually called metonymy.Another form of literary analysis is the study of punctuation. This is the study of the position of the punctuation marks, or of spaces, in the literary text. The introduction and the conclusion are the most common punctuation marks in a literary text. Most texts have a few punctuation marks for emphasis and for headers.
