The flexibility will ensure the workers are able to handle family matters effectively and offer the maximum level of production at the work place. The job should be able to offer chances of growth despite the employee missing some of the working days through maternity leave. When the company provides working structures that bring imbalance in the career and the family life of employees, they tend to lose the competitive advantage in the market (Kamerman and Moss, 2009). The employees will keep struggling to balance between the two, leading to the wastage of resources and time as their production capacity will be low.Americas working structure cannot be described to be very favorable to the workers. The women do not get paid maternity leaves and have to depend on the income of their partners during the leave days. The structure cannot provide a flexible family life and career growth since the workers feel like the firms do not care about them. During the working days, they will lack a high level of motivation to work thus lowering the level of production. This will just lower their chances of growth and overall development. The returns of the firm will be low as well as some of the resources going into waste due to underutilization.The government of the United States should ensure its firms gives paid maternity leaves to their employees. This would reduce the financial burden on their partner. In addition, it will not place the whole burden on the company alone since the finances will be shared between the company and the government. This will work to the firmsà ¢Ã¢â ¬ advantage since payment will make the employees improve on their work rate. Money is a motivational factor for most employees and they are always motivated to work and produce more when the amount is increased. A good working environment will be created since there will be less payment related conflicts among the staffs. This can be a feature to attract the talented graduates in the job market thus facilitating the continuous growth of the company. This is an emerging trend in the working world and United States should follow suit or risk being left behind as other countries continue to undergo development changes.The government of United States should support the firms in its economy to implement the policy of making leave payments in the event it adopts the policy. The feeling of knowing that the firm cares about them just gives them morale to work more. This translate s to high returns for the firm and the government in terms of taxes paid by the company. Therefore, the income obtained by the firm and the government exceeds the maternity leave payment made. The amount covers a short period and most of the workers can take a long time before going for another maternity leave. Therefore, the overall amount is very low to the government and the firm.The paternity leave provides a good opportunity for the improvement and creation of a strong family bond. The women feel very much appreciated when their men assist in taking care of the child during the maternity leave period. The paternity leave experience gives more men a chance to understand themselves and adjust to the different demands of life. It provides another opportunity for men to re-define and make them an all-round kind of fathers. This will enable them to improve and become more responsible both at work and at home. The rates of divorce have been seen to reduce when the paternity leaves ha ve been provided to the men. Divorces cause a lot of harm to the firm since this tends to lower their production levels. There is increased level of absenteeism as most of them may feel ashamed to appear in the work place. A lot of time which may have been used in the production process may be consumed the employees try to battle the court cases. The workers may even end up at a worse-off position financially, as they spend their funds fighting divorce cases (Saxonberg and Palgrave Connect, 2014).An organizational arrangement for the women who want to combine career and family matters should not be created. If they are made and implemented, the women who have children and have some other parties bring them up for them will feel neglected by the company. This will just create more division and hatred at the work place.
